The data are contained in a single csv spreadsheet file. Values are separated by semicolon.
In order of appearance, after the numbering (first column), the three following columns contain information about the taxonomy (order, family, species) of the observed waterbirds.
In the column after taxonomy, explanation about Time (rows 2 to 4: Year, Period, Month) and Location (rows 5 and 6: Sub-areas and size of each sub-area in hectares) is added.
The subsequent columns contain information about the monthly abundance of each species across the different sub-areas of the wetland.
At the bottom of each month, the observations are summarized into the different waterbirds' categories (wildfowl, grebes, coot, herons, cormorants, flamingos, gulls and terns, waders).
Further below, the calculated diversity indices per month for the four aquatic habitats (Lagoon, NW area, N. Wetland and S. Wetland) are also reported.
Species richness (S), as the number of observed species per month Species abundance (N), as the number of observed waterbirds during each count Relative abundance (RN), as the number of observed waterbirds during each count per unit area (km²) Shannon-Weiner Index (H) was calculated based on species abundance using the Shannon and Weaver (1949) formula, as described in the article by Maneas et al. (2020).
