Two Bolin Centre members awarded honorary doctorates

The Bolin Centre members Raymond Pierrehumbert and Jon Harbor has been awarded honorary doctorates at the Stockholm University as acknowledgements for their outstanding contributions.

Professor Ray Pierrehumbert is Halley Professor in Physics at Oxford University and a holder of King Carl XVI Gustaf’s visiting Chair in Environmental Science at Stockholm University. He is also a member of the Bolin Centre External Science Advisory Group and a long time visitor to the Department of Meteorology.


Professor Pierrehumbert will give lecture on Is unrestricted beef production compatible with keeping global warming under 2C? the 25 September at 11:15 in C609, Arrhenius Laboratory, Stockholm University.

 

Professor Jon Harbor of Purdue University is a long time visitor to the Department of Physical Geography and apart from doing excellent research he is an innovator within academic leadership, international collaboration and alumni engagement.

Professor Harbor will give lecture on International Collaboration and Alumni Engagement the 24 September at 13:00 in the Ahlmannsalen, Geoscience Building, Stockholm University.
