In recent years, there have been several advances towards more robust meta-analyses of LCA results. These build upon the averaging of inventory data, rather impact assessment data and dependent sampling. Several inconsistencies, however, persist beyond these and need to be decided upon for the SeaWin project. The expected output of Workshop 1 is therefore a protocol on how more robust comparisons can be made within the SeaWin project. This protocol is also anticipated to result in a publication, setting a new standard for dietary footprint studies.
