hallberg-2022-sumatra-3
Lipid biomarker glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraether (GDGT) distributions from soils, peats and lake sediments on Sumatra
This dataset contains glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraether (GDGT) distributions from a soil transect, two peat cores and a short lake core on West Sumatra. We report the peak areas for isoprenoid-GDGTs, branched-GDGTs and H-GDGTs, allowing GDGT indexes to be calculated by the user.

GDGT data can be used as paleothermometry and paleoenvironmental proxies, and we use the data to reconstruct the Holocene temperature evolution and local environmental conditions on Sumatra over the Holocene.

The data was generated by high performance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS) measurements of polar lipid extracts. The soils are from an altitudinal transect 0 – 2840 m elevation range, while lake and peat core sediments are of ages up to 11000 years, i.e., almost the entire Holocene.

Petter L.
