The data is provided in a spreadsheet (`xlsx` file) containing two sheets, listed below.
1. `READ ME` contains descriptions of all column headers and data. It provides units of measurement for each and explains nomenclature used throughout the dataset.
2. `data` contains 3,346 data entries over 133 columns. The primary data here are dissolved organic carbon concentrations extracted from 111 studies.
Each entry contains a reference number, reference to the publication, DOI, site coordinates (latitude and longitude), and a number of site descriptors. It also contains ~60 other biogeochemical parameters that were extracted along with DOC concentrations.
