Measurements were performed onboard Swedish icebreaker Oden during August and September 2018 along the track of the Arctic Ocean 2018 expedition in the central Arctic Ocean.\r\n\r\nBlack carbon is an anthropogenic aerosol resulting from incomplete combustion (e.g. traffic or ship exhaust or industrial emissions). It is relevant for various atmospheric processes such as its influence on radiative transfer within the Earth's atmosphere.\r\n\r\nThe MAAP was installed behind a whole-air inlet located on the 4th deck of I\/B Oden, where air was continuously sampled. The MAAP measures light absorption at a wavelength of 637 nm, which is the wavelength at which black carbon is the primary absorber. The time series presents the entire quality-assured data (including periods with the possible influence of ship pollution).","url":"http:\/\/bolin.su.se\/data\/oden-ao-2018-aerosol-ebc-1","keywords":["Atmosphere","Aerosols","Aerosol physical properties","Aerosol absorption","Aerosols","Arctic","Arctic Ocean","Arctic Ocean 2018","AO2018","AO18","MOCCHA","Icebreaker Oden","Earth science > Atmosphere > Aerosols"],"creator":{"@type":"Person","name":"Paul Zieger, Linn Karlsson"},"citation":"Siegel K, Karlsson L, Zieger P, Baccarini A, Schmale J, Lawler M, Salter M, Leck C, Ekman AML, Riipinen I, Mohr C (2021) Insights into the molecular composition of semi-volatile aerosols in the summertime central Arctic Ocean using FIGAERO-CIMS.
