The 12 filter samples were analyzed offline using an iodide high resolution time-of-flight chemical ionization mass spectrometer with a filter inlet for gases and aerosols (FIGAERO-HRToF-CIMS).\r\n\r\nDetailed aerosol chemical composition is of importance for the aerosol particles' ability to form clouds by acting as cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) or ice nucleating particles (INP), as it determines factors such as solubility, hygroscopicity and volatility.
