[{"name":"oden-ryder-2019-ctd-1","title":"Oceanographic CTD data from the Ryder 2019 expedition","summary":"Conductivity, temperature and depth (CTD) data collected during the Ryder 2019 Expedition from coastal waters along northwestern Greenland, from Thule in the south to Sherard Osborn Fjord in the north. \r\n\r\nMore specifically, the CTD stations cover Nares Strait, southern Lincoln Sea, Sherard Osborn Fjord (where Ryder Glacier drains), and Petermann fjord (where Petermann Glacier drains).\r\n\r\nThese CTD data include high resolution (0.2 m) vertical profiles of the water column properties in terms of salinity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, turbidity and fluorescence over a total of 51 stations.","citations":"Jakobsson M, Mayer LA, Farrell F, Ryder 2019 Scientific Party (2020) Expedition report: SWEDARCTIC Ryder 2019, Swedish Polar Research Secretariat, 455 pp, ISBN 978-91-519-5132-4","comments":"Data were collected with a Seabird 911 CTD. The CTD was equipped with a 24 Niskin bottle (12 liters) rosette and the following sensors: Dual\r\nSeaBird temperature (SBE 3), conductivity (SBE 04C), dissolved oxygen (SBE 43), turbidity and fluorescence (WET Labs ECO-AFL\/FL) and a\r\nBenthos Altimeter PSA-916D. In situ conductivity and temperature have been converted to conservative temperature and absolute salinity using\r\nthe TEOS-10 equation of state.\r\n\r\nThe Ryder expedition was carried out with Swedish icebreaker Oden starting\/ending in US Air Force Base Thule, Northwest Greenland, Aug 5\/Sept 10, 2019. It was multidisciplinary with a broad range of data collected. The main target was Sherard Osborn Fjord where Ryder Glaciers drains the north-western Greenland Ice Sheet. Included in the expedition survey areas were also Petermann Fjord and adjacent Hall Basin, northern Nares Strait and an area northeast of Ellesmere Island in the Lincoln Sea.","category":"Marine","subcategory":"Hydrography","keywords":"CTD data; Conductivity; Temperature; Dissolved oxygen; Turbidity; Fluorescence; Ryder 2019 expedition","scientist":"Christian Stranne, Johan Nilsson, Julia Muchowski, Julek Chawarski","firstname":"Christian","lastname":"Stranne","address":"Department of Geological Sciences; Stockholm University\r\n\r\n","postalcode":"SE-106 91","city":"Stockholm","province":"","country":"Sweden","parameters":"Earth science > Oceans","location":"Ocean > Arctic Ocean","progress":"Completed","language":"English","project":"Ryder 2019 Expedition: This was an Explorers Club Flag Expedition carrying Flag #51.
