Each gravity core (Ryder19-12-GC1, Ryder19-14-GC1) and the surface sample dataset has its own `.csv` file. Character set: Western Europe (ISO-8859-15/EURO). File content: ##### Surface samples (`biomarker-surface-samples.csv`) The surface samples dataset is made up of 16 columns and 16 rows (including titles). The metadata for each datapoint (first 8 columns) include the cruise name, the site number, the core name (MC = multi core), the core section (in case of MC’s section refers to the respective MC-tube), the top and bottom depth of the sample in centimeters, the mid-depth of the sample in centimeters, and the respective sample ID. The next two columns are the latitude and longitude of the respective core from which the samples was taken. The remaining six columns contain the data, including the amount of total organic carbon (TOC) in weight % (wt.%), IP25 in nanograms per gram sediment (ng/g sed) and micrograms per gram TOC (µg/g TOC), brassicasterol in micrograms per gram sediment (µg/g sed) and micrograms per gram TOC (µg/g TOC), and PBIP25. PBIP25 has been calculated as described in the associated publication. ##### Core Ryder19-12-GC1 (`biomarker-ryder19-12-GC1.csv`) The dataset for Ryder19-12-GC1 is made up of 17 columns and 49 rows (including titles). The next three columns contain the age of each sample, including a mid- lower and upper age, given in calibrated years before present (cal yrs BP). For more information on the construction of the age model, please refer to the associated publication. ##### Core Ryder19-14-GC1 (`biomarker-ryder19-14-GC1.csv`) The dataset for Ryder19-14-GC1 is made up of 17 columns and 32 rows (including titles). The next three columns contain the age of each sample, including a mid- lower and upper age, given in calibrated years before present (cal yrs BP). For more information on the construction of the age model, please refer to the associated publication. This dataset is related to the following datasets: - [Physical properties of marine sediment cores from the Ryder 2019 expedition](https://bolin.su.se/data/oden-ryder-2019-sediment-mscl-1) - [Geochemical XRF core scanning data of marine sediment cores from the Ryder 2019 expedition](https://bolin.su.se/data/oden-ryder-2019-sediment-xrf-1). The bulk density and XRF Ca/Ti ratios from Ryder19-12-GC1 and Ryder19-14-GC1 were used for lithological correlation and age modelling of the two cores. Please see the associated publication for details. Coordinates for the gravity core sites can also be found in the two related datasets. Data were collected during the [Ryder 2019 expedition](https://polarforskningsportalen.se/en/arctic/expeditions/ryder-2019) on board the Swedish icebreaker (I/B) Oden, which was organized by the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat.
