[{"name":"stordalen-lakes-ch4-conc-1","title":"Methane concentrations from subarctic lakes on the Stordalen Mire, Abisko, Northern Sweden","summary":"This dataset provides concentration measurements of dissolved methane (CH\u2084), a strong climate forcing trace gas, in the water column of three subarctic lakes located on the Stordalen Mire in northern Sweden.\r\n\r\nWater samples were collected during the ice-free seasons of 2009 to 2017, approximately every 1\u2060\u200a\u2013\u200a\u20602 weeks, from different locations in the lakes, as well as from the stream feeding the Mire. The lakes are small (surface area 0.010\u2060\u200a\u2013\u200a\u20600.17 km\u00b2) and shallow (max. depth 1.3\u2060\u200a\u2013\u200a\u20606.7 m), and are structural features of the landscape (i.e. non-thermokarst). Samples were collected from surface water, as well as in depth profiles at the deepest points of the lakes. Gas concentrations were measured on a gas chromatograph using the headspace method. Paired measurements of surface sediment and water temperature are also provided.
