The lakes are small (surface area 0.010\u2060\u200a\u2013\u200a\u20600.17 km\u00b2) and shallow (max. depth 1.3\u2060\u200a\u2013\u200a\u20606.7 m), and are structural features of the landscape (i.e. non-thermokarst). Samples were collected from surface water, as well as in depth profiles at the deepest points of the lakes. Gas concentrations were measured on a gas chromatograph using the headspace method. Paired measurements of surface sediment and water temperature are also provided.
