[{"name":"swedish-glaciers-1","title":"Swedish glaciers","summary":"A collection of photos, maps, videos and radar images for Swedish glaciers is presented. The large part of photos have been taken in connection with yearly glacier front measurements since the 1980s, but several older photos are also available. Together with glacier maps from different time points, the photos provide information of glacier retreat in the modern time. Video clips taken from airplane flights during 2011-2013 further illustrate the character of some of the glaciers. Radar images provide information about glacier depth and ice temperature. All this is presented together with facts about 161 Swedish glaciers, including drainage basin, area, length, max elevation and min elevation in most cases. Some glaciers also have information about ablation compass direction, volume, cold ratio and depth. A brief history of glacier investigation in Sweden is also provided, as well as references to literature about Swedish glaciers. All text is in Swedish.","citations":"","comments":"","category":"Terrestrial","subcategory":"Glaciers","keywords":"Glacier; Sweden; Photo; Map; Video; Radar image","scientist":"Per Holmlund","firstname":"Per","lastname":"Holmlund","address":"Department of Physical Geography, Stockholm University","postalcode":"SE-106 91","city":"Stockholm","province":"","country":"Sweden","parameters":"Earth science > Cryosphere > Glaciers\/ice sheets","location":"Continent > Europe > Northern Europe > Scandinavia > Sweden","progress":"In progress","language":"Swedish","project":"","publisher":"Bolin Centre Database","version":"1","constrains":"Please contact the principal investigator for information about limitations in usage of the photos, images and videos.","access":"Free"}]
