(2022). ##### Model configuration * Time periods: PI (200 year time slice) and MH (6 ka) (200 year time slice) * ESM configuration: EC-Earth3-LR, EC-Earth3-veg-LR * Horizontal resolution: ~1.125° (~125 km) For PI and 6 ka EC-Earth are run with two different configurations: * PI_orb: pre-industrial boundary conditions with prescribed vegetation * PI_veg: pre-industrial boundary conditions with dynamic vegetation * 6k_orb: mid-Holocene boundary conditions with prescribed vegetation * 6k_veg: mid-Holocene boundary conditions with dynamic vegetation ##### Available data Monthly, seasonal and annual data for standard meteorological variables such as surface air temperature, precipitation, evapotranspiration. Vegetation data such as vegetation type and leaf area index for low vegetation and high vegetation. The analyses are based on the calculation of difference between the simulations. The visualized data in the publication are the differences (or changes). Two of the simulations were made with with pre-industrial boundary conditions (PI_orb) and two with mid-Holocene boundary conditions (MH_orb). In this case, the differences between MH_orb and PI_orb could largely represent the differences in climate due to differences in orbital forcing. The differences in climate resulting from both differences in orbital forcing and vegetation feedbacks could be largely represented by the differences between MH_veg and PI_veg. Ultimately, vegetation feedbacks could be further distinguished by comparing the difference between the MH_veg minus PI_veg, and MH_orb minus PI_orb.
