This file describes selected graphical presentations of temerature data from
the Stockholm Old Astronomical Observatory (59.35N, 18.05E) 1756-2016.

annual-temperatures

	This directory contains two figure files (one with English, one with
	Swedish text) that show the homogenized annual and seasonal
        mean temperature in Stockholm since 1756. 

	Each coloured bar show the annual mean temperature, in red or blue, 
	depending on whether the temperature is above or below the average over
	1961-1990. The black curve respresents smoothed 10-year mean
	temperatures.
	
	The data used to create these graphs are found in the file
	~/temperature/monthly/stockholm_monthly_mean_temperature_1756_2016_hom_eadj.txt.


daily-temperatures

	This directory contains two sub-directories (one with English, one with 
	Swedish labels) with figure files. Each file shows the diurnal mean
	temperatures for each day in a particular year, in red or blue depending
	on whether the temperature is above or below the average over 1756-2005.
	Also shown are the lowest and highest observed daily mean temperature
	(in black) and the 5th and 95th percentiles (in green) for each calendar
	date. 

	The data used to create these graphs are found in column 6 in the file
	~/temperature/daily/stockholm_daily_mean_temperature_1756_2016.txt.
	These data are homogenized in the same way as for the graphs with annual
	and seasonal mean temperatures described above.
