Kebnekaise South Peak height measurements Surveys are carried out annually in early August by Tarfala Research Station The exact position of the peak may change from year-to-year due to changes in snow accumulation and wind direction. This results in error estimations of about 0.1 metre when the peak is well defined (pointy) and up 1 metre in years when the peak is more flat. Measurements have traditionally been made with a theodolite and a Geodimeter. In recent years, measurements are complemented with differential GPS measurements which increases the precision to 0.01 m.
