Tracing air in deep convection

Abstract
Deep convective clouds are very efficient transporters of air from the boundary layer to upper troposphere. They can lift particles and gases to the levels where thermodynamic conditions are suitable for new particle formation. Nevertheless, the internal dynamics of air parcels in separate deep convective clouds is still poorly understood. We utilize Lagrangian trajectories approach to understand dynamical and thermodynamical properties of deep convective clouds in the Amazonian region.
