Condensible gas transport in deep convective cloud

by Roman Bardakov
PhD student at the Department of Meteorology (MISU)

Time: 28 February 2019, 14h15–14h45
Venue: Rossbysalen C609, Arrhenius Laboratory, 6th floor

We derive a simple equation for condensible gas concentration that has an analytical solution. Within this model, gas can condense on and evaporate from hydrometeors available in the environment during convection. Properties of cloud such as hydrometeor number and size can be obtained from LES experiment, represented as Lagrangian trajectories and used to estimate gas concentration on those trajectories. Welcome if you wish to know the details!
