Fredrik Charpentier Ljungqvist appointed Pro Futura Scientia Fellow

Photo: Fredrik MGFredrik Charpentier Ljungqvist, Department of History, has been appointed Pro Futura Scientia Fellow by the Swedish Collegium of Advanced Study and the Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Foundation. The appointment constitutes of a five-year research grant and a tenured academic position here at Stockholm University. He will start 1 July 2019 on his new position and for five years led the interdisciplinary research project “Disentangling climatic and socio-political factors for food insecurity in northern Europe 1500–1800”. The aim of the project is to investigate to what extent food shortages and famines can be explained by climatic factors and socio-political factors, respectively, in Early Modern Northern Europe.
