Welcome to the kick-off meeting, held in Helsinki March 27–28, of the new 3yearspearhead project Artic Avenue! Artic Avenue is a collaboration between the Universityof Stockholm (SU) and the University of Helsinki (UH) that aims to establish a strongand continuing research platform, serving as an attractive hub and umbrella for Arcticresearch connecting different disciplines in focusing on a broad range of topics ofrelevance for Arctic climate and ecosystems. Arctic Avenue is led by Nina Kirchner(SU) and Atte Korhola (UH) and involves Bolin Centre members at SU, as well asresearchers at UH.

The Kick-off meeting starts with lunch on Wed March 27 at 11 am and ends with lunchon Thu March 28 at 1 pm. The meeting will include greetings by the vice rectors andthe Arctic Ambassador of Finland, information and discussion about practicalissues/arrangements of Artic Avenue, inspiring key note lectures and work insub-project groups to make plans for the ongoing year. Please note that:

  • All costs (travel, accommodation, food) for participants will be paid for bythe Artic Avenue
  • The meeting venue will be on the fortress island right in front the center ofHelsinki
  • We will arrange accommodation for the night
