August 31 - September 30, 2021

This course aims to strengthen each participant’s ability to communicate research results in the standard written English of scientific articles. We will take several approaches to increase skills and strategies for organizing and expressing complex ideas and arguments: short presentations, seminar discussions, targeted exercises and analysis of peer-reviewed papers from a writer’s perspective. The assignments and a conference with the instructor focus on individual progress. The best time to participate in the course is during a period of active engagement in writing about your own PhD research.

Course schedule: Two-hour seminars on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and one individual conference for each participant by arrangement with the instructor.
