Black carbon concentrations and carbon isotope signatures for Delhi, 2011

The dataset includes concentrations, stable carbon isotope signatures (δ¹³C) and radiocarbon signatures of elemental carbon (EC — thermal-optical tracer of black carbon) for samples collected in Delhi, 2011. The carbon isotope data may be used to quantify the relative proportions of the three main emissions sources of black carbon in this region: biomass burning, traffic and coal combustion.

The data is provided as an Excel file. It contains 4 sheets: metadata; OC (organic carbon)/BC concentrations; carbon isotope data (Δ¹⁴C and δ¹³C); MCMC-data (results from Markov chain Monte Carlo-based source apportionment calculations).

Black carbon (BC) is here quantified as elemental carbon (EC) using the NIOSH5040 protocol. Site coordinates: 28° 35' N; 77° 12' E.
