Air-sea fluxes of methane and carbon dioxide were measured directly using floating chamber methods, as well as atmopsheric and dissolved gas concentrations and supporting meteorological measurements.
Measurements were made from the Swedish icebreaker Oden during the expedition SAS (Synoptic Arctic Survey), covering a large area including parts of Amundsen Basin, Nansen Basin, the North Pole, Lomonosov Ridge, Morris Jesup Rise and the Yermak Plateau. The floating chambers were deployed in sea ice leads from ice edges as well as from Oden. Chamber gas concentration changes were analysed using an online cavity enhanced spectrometer. Dissolved gas concentrations were derived using multiple methods. Measurements were made between August 1 and September 11, 2021.
