This dataset contains meteorological data — air temperature, near-surface air temperature profiles, relative humidity, surface temperature, near-surface wind profiles, shortwave and longwave radiation components, wind speed and wind direction — measured at a station on the ice floe during the joint Arctic Climate Across Scales (ACAS) and Microbiology-Ocean-Cloud Coupling in the High Arctic (MOCCHA) projects — both part of the Arctic Ocean 2018 (AO2018) expedition to the High Arctic.
AO2018 took place in the Arctic from 1 August until 21 September 2018.

Measurement system
Measurements were made on a 15-m tall mast installed on the sea ice, approximately 300 m from the Oden. Mean temperature profiles were obtained from T-type thermocouples installed in aspirated radiation shields at 0.80, 1.55, 3.05, and 8.80 m to measure the near-surface temperature profile. A final thermocouple was installed at the snow/ice interface to measure ice surface temperature.
NRG Type-40 cup anemometers were installed at 0.65, 1.45, 2.86, 6.65, and 13.25 m to measure the near-surface wind speed profile. Mean wind and direction are obtained from a Metek USA-100 sonic anemometer installed at the top of the mast (15.55 m).
A Väisälä HMP-110 T/RH probe was installed in an aspirated radiation shield at the top of the mast (15 m) to give a reference temperature and relative humidity. Pairs of Kipp & Zonen CMP22 pyranometers and CGR4 pyrgeometers were installed approximately 50 m from the mast to measure up- and down-welling solar and infrared radiative fluxes. A Heitronics KT15-II infrared temperature sensor measured the surface skin temperature immediately below the radiometers.
All measurements are given as 1-minute averages.
Quality control
There are gaps in the time series resulting from power failures, problems with the data logging system, and icing of instrumentation.
