This dataset includes data related to physical sediment properties (the bulk density and Mn/Zr ratios) of cores AO16-9PC and AO16-10PC, located in the Arctic Ocean.
The sediment properties are used to correlate the sedimentary sequences (stratigraphy) of these cores to the existing stratigraphic framework, and forms the basis for paleoenvironmental studies.
The cores were collected during the Arctic Ocean 2016 expedition with the Swedish icebreaker Oden in 2016.

Data description
The sediment properties are presented in an excel file (xlsx
) containing containing data sheets for the bulk density and Mn/Zr ratio for each cores. All data sheet are also presented separately as csv
files. The columns of each data sheet are as following:
- Sheet
Bulk density AO16-10PC
- Core name
- Depth [mbsf, meter below seafloor]
- Bulk density [g/cm³]
- Sheet
Mn Zr AO16-10PC
- Core name
- Depth [mbsf, meter below seafloor]
- Manganese/Zirconium ratio
- Sheet
