Data from expedition LOMROG II, Lomonosov Ridge, Arctic Ocean, 2009

The LOMROG II (Lomonosov Ridge off Greenland) expedition was carried out during summer 2009 in Arctic Ocean waters around the North Pole and off North Greenland, partly above the Lomonosov Ridge.

With the Swedish icebreaker Oden serving as the research platform, a range of scientific investigations were made. The main scientific goal was to map sections of the Eurasian Basin and the Lomonosov Ridge, and acquire sediment and water samples to study the paleoceanography and ecology of the Arctic Ocean. Data provided in the database here comprise processed multibeam bathymetry.

The expedition started and ended in Longyearbyen, Svalbard, and lasted from July 31 to September 10, 2009.

Comments

LOMROG II was a follow-up to LOMROG, conducted in 2007. The expedition was carried out by the Danish Continental Shelf Project in cooperation with the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat and the Swedish Maritime Administration.
