Data from expeditions SAT, Arctic Ocean, 2008 and 2009

The SAT (Sea Acceptance Test) expeditions were carried out during summers 2008 and 2009 in Arctic Ocean waters off Northwest Svalbard.

The main goal of these expeditions were to test and calibrate the multibeam and sub-bottom profiling system installed in Oden. Data provided in the database here comprise processed multibeam bathymetry.

The first expedition between 23 and 28 of June, 2008, started and ended in Longyearbyen, Svalbard. The second expedition also started and ended in Longyearbyen, Svalbard, and lasted between July 13 and 14, 2009.

Comments

The Oden multibeam and subbottom system was financed by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation and the Swedish Research Council (VR). The hull installation cost was financed by the Swedish Maritime Administration.
