Seasonal macrophyte data on traits, carbohydrates and CN content from the Tvärminne archipelago, Finland, 2021 and 2022
Roel Lammerant, Eva Karin Rohlfer, Camilla Gustafsson, Alf Norkko
The dataset is based on a seasonal field survey, consisting of four sampling campaigns (October 2021, March 2022, June 2022 and August 2022) of destructively harvesting macrophyte material in the Tvärminne archipelago, Finland.
The dataset contains species composition, biomass, and trait data (morphological and biochemical). In addition, non-structural carbohydrate data was measured for plants in soft-sediment habitats. The macrophytes were collected at a water depth of 1.8 to 3.0 m in both soft sediment and hard-bottom habitats.
The data were collected in order to assess seasonal dynamics of macrophyte community composition and biomass-bound carbon stocks.
