This dataset contains concentrations (micrograms per meter cubed of air) of anions detected in submicron aerosols collected onboard icebreaker Oden during the Arctic Ocean 2018 (AO2018) expedition to the central Arctic Ocean in August and September 2018, also referred to as MOCCHA-ACAS-ICE. The data were collected for the purpose of identifying the sources of aerosol in the summertime high Arctic.
Aerosol was sampled through the sub-1-micron inlet in the triple lab onboard Oden and collected using a particle-into-liquid-sampler (PILS). Samples were frozen within about 12 hours of collection. Samples were thawed and analyzed at UC Irvine using ion chromatography coupled to electrospray ionization with tandem mass spectrometry detection (IC-ESI-MS/MS) using selected reaction monitoring.
Ions reported are methanesulfonate (MSA), iodide, iodate, and sulfate from 26 August to 19 September, 2018. Reported values are background-corrected using background vials that were collected while the PILS sampled filtered air.

Data description
The data are provided in a comma-separated values (csv) file. Start and end times of the individual samples are given, and the anion concentrations in air in micrograms per cubic meter.
The largest known uncertainty in the values is due to uncertainty in the sample flow, estimated at 10%. Detection limits are estimated in µg/m³ as 5×10⁻⁵ (MSA), 5×10⁻³ (sulfate), 2×10⁻⁵ (iodide), and 7×10⁻⁷ (iodate).
Coordinates (latitude and longitude in decimal degree) for each sample are provided in a separate csv file.
Comments
Data were collected during the Arctic Ocean 2018 expedition on board the Swedish icebreaker (I/B) Oden, which was organized by the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat.
