This dataset is part of the Circum-Arctic Sediment Carbon Database (CASCADE) and contains gridded data of organic carbon (OC), total nitrogen (TN) and OC isotopes (δ¹³C, Δ¹⁴C) in surface sediments across the Arctic Ocean.

Gridded carbon data may be used to illustrate large-scale carbon features in Circum-Arctic sediments and to estimate OC and its isotopic composition at any location in the Arctic Ocean.

The dataset is based on interpolation of sample data from CASCADE.

Data description

The gridded carbon data of Arctic Ocean surface sediments are available in the GeoTIFF format and are projected in the WGS 84 Arctic Polar Stereographic coordinate system. The spatial resolution of each grid cell is 5x5 km.
