Ice-nucleating particle concentrations sampled from behind the whole air inlet and from a balloon borne sampler

We collected filter samples of aerosol from the whole air inlet and size segregated aerosol samples from a balloon borne sampler (SHARK), which were then processed using a droplet freezing assay to yield ice-nucleating particle (INP) concentration spectra.
INPs control the primary production of ice in clouds, but very few measurements of INP have been made near the North Pole.
The measurements were made on the Icebreaker Oden during August and September 2018 along the track of the Arctic Ocean 2018 expedition.

Time series of ice-nucleating particle concentration spectra measured on a cruise to the North Pole.
This is a dataset consisting of the ice-nucleating particle measurements made during the cruise to the North Pole in 2018 on board the Icebreaker Oden.
The dataset contains the following:
- The log of the filter times that gives the start and end time associated with each filter.
- A zip file containing the INP concentration spectra corresponding to each filter.
- The surface area concentrations derived from size distribution measurements (see below) corresponding to each filter.
- The active site densities corresponding to each filter.
- The SHARK data including the radiosonde, OPC and INP data.
The full size distribution measurements on which #3 above are based on Zieger and Karlsson (2022) available on the Bolin Centre database.
